God's work at the Harbor
Greetings in the Lord Jesus Christ,
It is so exciting to see the power of the Holy Spirit at work!! It amazes me in traveling just how many people there are in our little world.
So we went to the Sydney Harbor this weekend, and saw the famous Opera house it was really beautiful. Still there is more intricacy in the smallest flower that God has created. We as humans do our very best and build our biggest masterpieces, but they pale so much in comparison to God's smallest creation.
As we walked about there were allot of people doing odd things, juggling fire, and telling fortunes and selling things. It was like a theme park, and I felt so small in the midst of all these people, but yet as I looked at them they all looked very empty taking in the beauty of God's creation, and yet blinding themselves to the creator.
I had some gospel tracts with me, and I was giving them out to people that were sitting on the benches. There was one guy sitting by himself reading a book and I approached him and handed him the tract which had a visual image trick on the front where if you stare at this image and then look on a white paper you will see the image of Jesus' face. So he was looking at it, and asked, "So what are you about?" I said that it was a tract about Jesus Christ.
I said "I don't want to interrupt you if you are reading your book though." He said "Nah, this is useless reading." We exchanged some small talk and I found out that he is a comedian in Melbourne. He said that it was odd that I came up to him, because he was going to go and buy a bible today.
Well that morning I had put a small bible in my bag just in case, so I pulled it out and said "Well you can have this bible if you would like." He said "Oh no I couldn't take your bibleā, but I said I wanted him to have it. So I wrote his name and the date inside and asked what he thought I should put for the occasion. He said how about "Tim's ship has come in."
I was able to share the gospel with him through the ten commandments, and how we have all fallen so short of God's standard and that Jesus is the only one that will be able to free us from the bonds of sin and death.
He seemed open enough, and gladly took the bible, but he said that he thought that Christians were a little too narrow minded, and that they should read more than just the bible. Why should he believe that some guy 2,000 years ago would make such a difference and why should he put his trust in Him? He didn't believe in Hell, he believed in evolution, but I am sure that the Holy Spirit was working on his heart. I told him that the difference between this book and all the others is that this one is the only one where the words have the power of eternal life.
I asked if I could pray for him, and he said that if I knew what he talked about in his comedian show that I probably wouldn't think there was any hope for him, but if I thought that this God that I serve could make a difference in his life then I could pray for him. At that he left and went to lunch. There were many others that I gave tracts to, but no others that I was able to talk to one on one.
Please pray for Tim, pray that the Lord will open his eyes and his heart, as I feel that he is genuinely seeking the truth. Pray that as he reads the Bible that it would pierce his heart.
We didn't see allot of Homosexuals there, but praise the Lord it rained during their parade :o) The people here have told me that it has rained on all of the past Mardi gra parades as well. Probably God's tears can't be held back as he has to watch his children that he loves so much in such flagrant sin.
There is allot of need for evangelism here in Sydney. Please pray that the Lord would raise up laborers as the harvest is plentiful! Time is so short.
Thank you for your prayers,
God bless you!

Mardi Gras Weekend Outreach
Hi there,
Well this weekend my mother and I will be going to the heart of Sydney, finally! We have been here four weeks, and haven't seen a blessed thing. So praise the Lord this weekend we are going to be able to go down to the harbor. As God would have it this weekend is the largest homosexual parade all year. Sydney has the highest homosexual population in the world.
So please pray that God would give us the opportunity to share with these people, as He loves them so much. There is no grading scale of sin with God sin is sin. And therefore the sin of murder is on par with lying, and so forth. I am so thankful for the grace that God has poured out in my life to cover my sins, and I just pray that I will be able to just exude God's love to these very lost and dying people. This is the website that will give you more information about the parade http://goaustralia.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?zi=1/XJ&sdn=goaustralia&zu=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mardigras.org.au%2F
