Getting to Israel

Dear Friends,

Praise the Lord, I have made it to Jerusalem, after a 2 day journey I am here at For Zion's Sake.  Would you like to know what happened along the way??  Yes of course you do *smiles*

9/11- 4:00 AM  I left my sister's house in Henderson, Nevada to go the the Las Vegas Airport.

6:00 AM  Check in at the United Airlines ticket counter, and check my bags through all the way to Tel Aviv.

6:40 AM  I flew to Los Angeles Airport to meet up with my friend Minette who is coming to Israel with me.

            7:43 AM  Arrive at LAX

9:00 AM  Depart to Chicago with Minette

2:48 PM  Arrive  10 minutes early to Chicago, and go directly to our next flight, get to the ticket counter and are told that they have overbooked the flight and that they have given our seats away.  We are told that we need to go to the United Airlines ticket counter, and they will get us on the next flight.

3:30 PM  We have been waiting for almost an hour to talk to someone that can assist us.

4:00 PM  United Airlines redirects us to Luftansa Airlines, where we wait for another hour to talk to someone.

5:10 PM Luftansa Airlines ticket agent issued us new tickets to get to Tel Aviv

6:00 PM We go through the really long security line, and are told that we are in the wrong line and need to go to the international check in counter.

6:10 PM  At the International check in counter, they try to locate our luggage, but because of the time restraint they allowed us to go, not knowing if our luggage would be on the plane.

6:32 PM Had to go through the extreme security check point, where they go through like every nook and cranny of your things.

6:40 PM  Bear in mind that our flight is leaving at 6:50, we are running across Ohare International Airport

6:49 PM Arrive to the gate(exhausted) and get on the plane.

9/12  10:30 AM  Arrive Frankfort Germany, we had a four hour layover

2:30 PM  Enter into the El Al (Israel's Airline)  for our final journey to the Promise Land

3:00 PM Go through lots of questioning, and security searches.

3:20 PM Depart Germany and head towards Israel.

7:25 PM Arrive at TelAviv Airport

8:00 PM Fill out visa paperwork

8:20 PM go through Passport control

9:00 PM  Go to lost and found to try and locate our luggage.

9:30 PM Still no luggage, we are given reciepts, and given some reimbursment for our misplaced lugage.

10:00 PM We get on a van that will take us to Jerusalem

10:30 PM we wait till the can is full enough to depart.

11:00 PM We arrive by foot from the bus stop to For Zion's Sake Jerusalem, Israel!!

So that is how it all went, it was quite a long couple of days, but I am so blessed to be here, and to see all of the familiar sights, sounds people, and just the peace of being here in this place where I know the Lord wants me for this time.

This morning we woke up and had pita and Hummas for breakfast, it was just perfect!!  There is a lot of Spiritual Warfare here and everything at FZS is going through big transition, so please pray for the Lord's perfect plan to unfold.  We are going to look at an apartment in the morning and see how that goes, so please pray for that as well.

God bless you and keep you,

Serving Him, Grace

Comments

Grace, we will be taking a team, Lord willing, to Israel in March 06. Take lots of notes for us, and let us know how we can go super-economy. We do not want to lose our luggage, however, like you did!
